- The 5th International Shipbuilding Conference "Navy and shipbuilding nowadays NSN-2009".

     RESULTS OF THE CONFERENCE

The 4th International Shipbuilding Conference " Navy and shipbuilding nowdays" was held in the site of Krylov Shipbuilding Research Institute in St.Petersburg, from 26 till 29 June, 2007. The issue of the conference was Modern approaches in ship designing of the first quarter of the XXIth century.
The conference was organized by Krylov Shipbuilding Research Institute and the first Central Research Shipbuilding Institute of the Russian Ministry of Defence.
The head of the organizing committee was Mr. A.V. Dutov, the assistant to the Director of the Federal Agency on Industry.
The main theme of the conference was Modern approaches in ship designing of the first quarter of the XXIth century.
The basic subjects of the conference were:

- technology in ship/boat design, building and maintenance;
- ship armaments and naval safety technology.

The NSN'2007 technical committee being headed by the co-chairman and academician Mr. V.M.Pashin (the adviser and director of Krylov Shipbuilding Research Institute) and the rear-admiral and professor Mr.I.G.Zakharov (the first Central Research Shipbuilding Institute of the Russian Ministry of Defence) chose and included into the official technical programme of the conference 75 reports according to the major conference subjects among 120 proposed ones. The total number of authors (co-authors) exceeded 128 members. The conference subjects aroused the interest among the specialists, scientists, decision-makers in shipbuilding and other related industries as well as the Navy representatives of different countries.

The reports to be presented at the plenary meeting highlighted such issues and problems in Navy development of the XXIth century as combat ship designing, endurance supporting, EMF and acoustic protection.

The issues of international cooperation regarding the crew life-saving submarine programmes were also discussed during the conference.

Navy representatives, shipbuilders and other industry related decision-makers, representatives from research institute universities from 11 countries:Germany, Denmark, India, Italy, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, France, Turkey, the Netherlands and Croatia participated in the conference.

Such foreign companies as DCN Ingenierie (France), Defence historical service (France), CTSN (France), Deeberg-Systems GmbH (Germany), ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (Germany), Thales Netherlands B.V. (the Netherlands), Bruel&Kjaer Sound & Vibration Measurement A/S (Denmark) and others took part in the conference.
